W.I.Z. (video director, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Dizzee Rascal)


AndrewW.I.Z.Whiston has directed a number of high-concept videos for major music artists, including Alexander McQueen, David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Massive Attack, Oasis, Chemical Brothers, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys and Dizzee Rascal. Once in a band himself, W.I.Z. has also directed concert films of live performances by the bands Suede, Manic Street Preachers, and Primal Scream.

W.I.Z. has directed two short films: Weekender and Baby. The 1992 film Weekender follows the band Flowered Up and displays the hedonistic side of club and drug culture; the 13-minute film was screened on Channel 4 in Britain. W.I.Z.’s second short film Baby made its European debut at the 2000 Edinburgh International film festival and its U.S. debut at the MVPA Director’s Cuts 2000 film festival. In February 2003, W.I.Z.’s video for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s “Whatever Happened to My Rock ‘N Roll” was named as MTV2 Europe’s “Best Video of the Year 2002” by the NME Carling Awards.

Marcus Russell (artist manager, Oasis)

Marcus Russell is the former manager of Oasis and the MD of Ignition Management with Alec McKinlay. Marcus currently manages Catfish and the Bottlemen and Noel Gallagher amongst the Ignition Management managed Primal Scream, Stereophonics, Chapel Club and Young Rebel Set among others. Ignition has previously managed The Bible, Johnny Marr, The The, Mercury Rec, Black Mountain, Crowded House and Electronic.

Andy Perry (journalist, Q, Mojo)


Andrew Perry has been writing about popular music professionally for 25 years, but you could add another ten to include his early years on fanzines and student magazines. In the ’90s, he worked on indie magazine Select, rising to Deputy Editor. Since going freelance in 2000, he has written mostly for The Daily Telegraph, Q, Mojo and Numéro. His work has also appeared in titles in America, China, Japan and Australia. He’s now really living the dream, ghost-writing the autobiography of his teenage hero, John Lydon.

Anna Moulson (Melting Vinyl)


Anna Moulson works in the live music industry, having promoted live music in Brighton and beyond for over 15 years. Her company Melting Vinyl is one of the largest music promoters in the south east, working with a stylistically diverse range of local, national and international artists. She’s toured Europe as a Tour Manager, and is passionate about the development and promotion of both new local talent and established artists.

Ben Marshall (Rolling Stone, The Guardian, GQ)

Ben Marshall is a music writer, cultural commentator and journalist, with a life-long passion for The Who. Ben began writing in the 1980s and has worked for Melody MakerLoaded and GQ, and has subsequently written for The Evening Standard, the GuardianRolling Stone and the Observer among others, on film, music and culture.

 

John Kennedy (XFM DJ)


John Kennedy has worked at XFM from its inception 20 years ago. John has been hosting the longest running of all the specialist music shows during that time, four nights a week. X-Posure focuses on cutting edge and alternative music, from genres across the board, and was the first to give airplay to demos of The xx, Adele and Mumford & Sons amongst others.

Kate Head (Stoked PR, Taylor Swift)

Kate Head is the founder of Stoked PR, a boutique independent PR company founded in 2008. Kate also worked as the Head of Press at Sony where she oversaw UK publicity campaigns for Bob Dylan, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Alicia Keys, Shakira, Kasabian and Faithless among others. Stoked PR’s clients include Annie Lennox, Annie Mac, Taylor Swift, and George the Poet to name some.

Lauren Eva is a fashion stylist and art director. Lauren works towards creating striking editorial & commercial fashion imagery for magazines, brands & designers. She also provides wardrobe and styling for music videos and artists. Lauren has worked with artists like Disclosure, Kings of Leon, Bat for Lashes, Robbie Williams and Emeli Sandé.

Tom Davies (Secretly Canadian)


Tom Davies is the European marketing director and project manager for Secretly Group record labels. Tom has been working in the independent music business for almost 20 years – starting as musician and moving into marketing, project management, artist management, label ownership and everything in between.  He has overseen record release and marketing campaigns for artists such as Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, The War on Drugs, Bright Eyes, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Fugazi, Sharon Van Etten and many more.  He is currently the marketing director for Secretly Group (Secretly Canadian, Jagjaguwar, Dead Oceans), European director for Sufjan Steven’s Asthmatic Kitty Records and artist manager for New Jersey band Pinegrove and Chicago punk-rockers Meat Wave.
