Tom Davies (Secretly Canadian)


Tom Davies is the European marketing director and project manager for Secretly Group record labels. Tom has been working in the independent music business for almost 20 years – starting as musician and moving into marketing, project management, artist management, label ownership and everything in between.  He has overseen record release and marketing campaigns for artists such as Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, The War on Drugs, Bright Eyes, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Fugazi, Sharon Van Etten and many more.  He is currently the marketing director for Secretly Group (Secretly Canadian, Jagjaguwar, Dead Oceans), European director for Sufjan Steven’s Asthmatic Kitty Records and artist manager for New Jersey band Pinegrove and Chicago punk-rockers Meat Wave.

Keith Cameron (NME, The Guardian, Kerrang!)

Keith Cameron is an author, journalist and sub-editor. He became a freelance contributor to the weekly music paper Sounds in 1988 and after that began contributing to the NME. Since 2001, Keith has worked at MOJO magazine, currently as Contributing Editor.

As a writer Keith has contributed to many other titles, including The Guardian, The Times, The Sunday Times, Scotland On Sunday, Q and Kerrang!. From 1997-98 he hosted a show on XFM, London’s alternative radio station. In 1999, Keith compiled an album based on his XFM show, ‘The Carve-Up’, released by Loose Music. It features rare and exclusive tracks from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Mogwai, Arab Strap, Low, Mudhoney and many more.

In 2013, his book Mudhoney: The Sound And The Fury From Seattle was published by Omnibus Press. In 2014, the US edition was published by Voyageur Press.

Ruth Barnes (Amazing Radio presenter)

Ruth Barnes is a music expert, voiceover artist and broadcaster, founder of The Other Woman – the music network dedicated to emerging and independent artists.

The Other Woman had a home on new music network Amazing Radio for 4 years before returning to London’s legendary Resonance FM in 2016.

Ruth also presents music documentaries for BBC Radio 4 and can be seen on Sky News as a music pundit. She has presented shows on BBC 6 Music, including BBC Introducing and an all-female 6 Mix.

Ruth was a music reporter for the BBC broadcasting live from the likes of the Glastonbury festival for BBC Radio 5 Live to the WOMAD music festival as far afield as Abu Dhabi for the BBC World Service. Years spent as part of the BBC 6 Music news team meant reporting from music festivals around the country, as well as interviewing musicians – both famous and emerging. Ruth has also been a regular feature maker for the Claudia Winkleman Arts Show on BBC Radio 2, presenting and producing features on all aspects of the arts.

She is also a regular speaker at music industry conventions such as The Great Escape Convention and has chaired a panel discussion at the Southbank’s prestigious Meltdown Festival.

Ruth has a voiceover career and is a voice of BBC TV continuity and gallery guides for the likes of The Tate and the National Gallery.

Ruth also runs an audio production company – Chalk & Blade.
