Mark Lawrence is the CEO of The Association of Electronic Music. Prior to his appointment as AFEM’s first CEO, Lawrence spent 10 years at U.K. collection society PRS For Music, most recently holding the role of Director of Membership, where he was responsible for 100,000 members worldwide.
AFEM was launched at the start of last year as a not-for-profit trade body representing the common interests of global companies and individuals working in the field of EDM.
The association has a 48-strong international advisory board that includes Avicii’s manager Ash Pournouri, Ultra Records’ Patrick Moxey, Red Light Management’s Bruce Eskowitz, Live Nation president of Electronic Music James Barton and Mark Gillespie of Three Six Zero Goup. Nile Rodgers and Jean-Michel Jarre are among AFEM’s artist ambassadors.
